Mission "Melanoma": FYI - Basic Staging

The very basic staging of melanoma. It gets much more complex than this, but for the onlooker this is enough.

The Nitty Gritty Short Story

Strong family history of melanoma. Grandpa, Great Uncle, Uncle, Aunt, Mother. All on my mother's side. My Uncle, & Great Uncle died from melanoma. It's undetermined what kind of cancer my Grandpa died from. Also Grandma on my Dad's side.

Age 37 , March 2010- First melanoma, 0.4mm deep, on my back. WLE. Superficial spreading.

June 2012 - Second melanoma, stage 2A, on my upper arm. WLE 2.45 mm depth, clark level 4, mitosis 9, SLN - No lymph involvement. Nodular Melanoma.

Feb 2013 - Third melanoma, in situ, on my butt! yay. WLE. Superficial Spreading.

June 2013- WLE June 26 on 2 biopsies that were inconclusive. Had a biopsy for a lump found under the skin at my second melanoma scar site on my arm. Thankfully it was negative for melanoma!

Feb 2014 - WLE to buttocks again for a highly dysplasic mole at the site of my third melanoma
